Barnardo’s has teamed up with Enterprise Rent-A-Car for the Driving Healthy Futures initiative.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Barnardo’s have joined up in a brand new partnership to support young people and families across the UK to eat healthily on a budget. This partnership is the result of a £220,000 donation from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation’s global initiative ‘Fill Your Tank’ to address food insecurity around the globe.
Driving Healthy Futures
Named Driving Healthy Futures – the new project sees Enterprise Rent-A-Car funding the training of more than 120 Barnardo’s staff and volunteers to deliver cooking workshops in their communities, giving people the skills they need to cook cheap and healthy food at home for the whole family. These workshops cover topics like feeding your family on low budgets, cooking skills for all abilities, and how to cook nutritious food for the family.
Thanks to Enterprise Rent-A-Car and their employees, Barnardo’s were also able to create seven recipe inspiration videos to inspire people to get in the kitchen and try out new recipes. One of these recipes features a special appearance from Great British Bake-Off finalist Ruby Bhogal. These videos can be found on Barnardo’s Family Hub.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car has also generously donated £100,000 in food vouchers so Barnardo’s can provide young people and families in need so they can afford the essentials and feed their families.
