IKEA and Barnardo’s are working together to support children and young people, with a particular focus on helping young people leaving care to live happy and independent lives.

Our partnership aims to couple their unique knowledge of life at home with our 154 years of expertise in delivering high quality services to vulnerable children and young people, in order to support care leavers to live independently and work towards a positive future.

IKEA played a key role in Barnardo’s emergency response to the COVID-19 crisis by donating wellbeing packs for children and Life at Home packs for care leavers, reaching over 8,500 individuals across the UK. IKEA also provided funding for over 13,700 hours of vital support to children and young people in the wake of the crisis. IKEA co-workers used their expertise to transform the interiors of a number of Barnardo’s services across the county, making them comfortable and homely for those who use them.

What you have given us is more than material things... it is hope, and joy, and a reminder of happy times. Thank you IKEA.
