Your donation makes a difference

We work to improve the lives of every child and young person in the UK.

We run over 800 services across the UK, working to change the childhoods and lives of the children and families who need it most. We do this through counselling and long term support for children who have been abused, supported lodgings for care leavers, vocational training for young people, short breaks for young carers and many other vital services.

Every Barnardo's service is different but they all believe in the potential of every child and young person, no matter who they are or what they have been through.

Every £1 you donate will help us change a child's life.

Pie chart showing how much money is spent on working with children and young people (94p in every pound)

How we use your donation

For every pound we spend (excluding retail costs) approximately:

  • 94p goes on working with the children and young people who need it most

  • Less than 1p goes on investment management costs

  • And the remaining amount – just over 5p - on raising the next £1
