Other ways to donate

  • Donate your preloved items

When you shop unique finds or donate your preloved items to us, you can feel good knowing you’re supporting children, young people and families around the UK. Find your local Barnardo’s store or shop with us online.

  • Gift aid

Did you know you can make your donation go even further with gift aid? Find out how it works and see if you're eligible.

  • Give direct from your salary

Are you an employee? If you donate via payroll giving, the money comes out of your gross pay. This means the tax you would have paid on your donation is added to the amount. It’s easy, quick, tax-free and could help change a child’s life.

  • Donate shares

Donating shares can be a tax-efficient way for you to support us to make children safer, happier, heathier and more hopeful.

Thank you for changing childhoods and changing lives

Where does your donation go?

For every pound we spend (excluding retail costs) approximately:

  • 94p goes on working with the children and young people who need it most

  • Less than 1p goes on investment management costs

  • And the remaining amount – just over 5p – goes on raising the next £1

For more info about how we raise and spend our money, please look at our latest annual report.
