Creating positive futures and better outcomes for the UK’s most at risk young people.

The Partnership with Saint-Gobain was launched in March 2017 with aspirations of using the expertise of Saint-Gobain as the leader in the sustainable habitat and construction materials markets to support the Gap Homes programme and Barnardo’s Hope Academy.

United by the belief that a safe place to call home is a fundamental right and to creating better outcomes for vulnerable young people, we joined forces with Saint Gobain to pilot a new model to deliver transformative impact by creating Gap Homes and develop the Future Place Academy in London.

Throughout the partnership, Saint-Gobain has extended its support for the Employment, Training and Skills services to ensure that vulnerable young people, including care leavers, don’t miss out on the support, advice and work opportunities available to those from different backgrounds.

Saint-Gobain has also been using its expertise to support the Gap Homes programme – the construction of a series of starter homes on unused Local Authority land near existing Barnardo’s services around the country, to be rented to young care leavers and other vulnerable young people as a “stepping stone” to independent living.
