What we do

MUMMA based in Peterborough, offers practical, help, advice and emotional support for Black, Asian and Mixed Ethnicity, mothers, babies and families. Centring on Black voices and experience.
Our aim to improve experiences of maternity care by providing direct/indirect support to them and their families throughout the perinatal period. Also to ensure that families can enjoy and celebrate pregnancy, birth and early years parenting in a way that is culturally sensitive and true to themselves.

Our team is made up of Asian, Black and Mixed Ethnicity women who have lived experience and are local to Peterborough.

We are in partnership with Local organisations who are experienced Midwives. They co-produce and design services with the hub. We also work with a storyteller who captures the birth stories of women as a way of preservation of history and a tool of self expression.
