    Caern House is a respite service for children with learning disabilities, physical diabilities or autism based at Gogarbank in Edinburgh. We can also provide respite on a Spot Purchase basis.

    Contract Carers

    A Contract Carer is dually assessed and approved as a Short Break Foster Carer as well as being self-employed to offer regular ‘short breaks’ for disabled children/young people in the carer’s own home. A Contract Carer receives a retainer for their skills and abilities, plus a maintenance fee when children are placed.

    This service allows parents/other professionals to purchase a trained disability worker to support children & young people either in the family home or in the community. The service is registered with CQC as a domiciliary service & is rated as good at the last inspection
