What we do
The Positive Identities Service offers LGBT+ Core Training called SafeZone.
After our training, participants will be able to...
- Name and define some LGBT+ identities
- Give examples of homophobia, biphobia and transphobia, including some relevant to their own context
- Explain what normativity is
- Understand their own unconscious bias
- Demonstrate the impact of LGBT-phobia, normativity and unconscious bias on LGBT+young people
- Analyse their practice from a perspective of LGBT+ inclusion, identifying their own unconscious bias
- Apply their understanding of normativity and unconscious bias to their work to make it more LGBT+ inclusive
- Plan actions and changes to improve their day-to-day practice
Bolt-Ons are also accessible where more specific knowledge and expertise is required, such as Sex and Relationships, Care Experience, Autism and Learning Development. Please note, these are only available where core training has taken place first.
