The Bays+ Youth Homeless Prevention Education Service is an early intervention service working closely with schools and colleges to provide young people between the ages of 14-18 with information about the realities of homelessness and the issues of living independently at a young age.
We provide supported lodgings for young people aged from 16 years who are either leaving the care of Coventry or Warwickshire LA's or who have contact with either LA and are homeless. We aim to bridge the gap between care and independent living, providing young people a safe and supportive environment to develop skills for a successful transition to independence.
We provide supported lodgings for young people aged from 16 years who are either leaving the care of local authority or care leavers. Referrals from Lincolnshire County Council Children's Services only.
Supported Accommodation for 16 to 24 year olds
Bay6 - 6 bed emergency accommodation, individual self contained rooms with communal areas. 24 hours staffing with support to prepare young people for independent living. Referrals to the service come from Lancashire County Council and District Housing department.
The BAYS+ Youth Homeless Service is modelled on the Social Services and Wellbeing Act (2014). Service users will be assessed using Signs of Wellbeing and an individual support plan will be developed focussing on preventing homelessness where possible.
