Parents Wellbeing Service (PWS) - Surrey

What we do

PWS offers support to parents or carers whose children and young people are experiencing poor mental health and well-being such as anxiety, depression, stress, mild self harm and eating disorders.

The service aims to enable parents and carers to be a protective factor for their child or young person in their wellbeing recovery. Support is offered to parents or carers across Surrey.

PWS Practitioners will meet with parents or carers to help them identify their goals and how they can achieve positive change for them and their family. This can be through:
Meeting with practitioners for 1:1 support
Attending local groups
Getting advice, guidance or information
Accessing phone or online support
Finding other support in the local community
Befriending other parents or carers going through similar difficulties

PWS works within the i-THRIVE framework (Getting help)

PWS works closely with the Community Wellbeing Team and referrals can be made via this team or through:
Mindworks Surrey Access and Advice Service (formerly CAMHS access and advice service)
Professionals working with the family such as GP, education, social care
Parents or carers themselves
