What we do
This service sits under the support on offer by Mindworks Surrey. Surrey state, infant, primary, junior & secondary schools can reach out to organise group support for their students. We support students aged between 6-16 years old. We will come to the school for the same day and time for 5 or 6 consecutive weeks. We celebrate the differences we see in our young people's growing brains, boost young people's self-esteem, support development of positive friendships, explore big feelings and coping strategies to manage different feelings, and discuss tone of voice and empathy. All of these aims are achieved within a mixture of arts and crafts, games and group discussions. Young people invited to this group might display behaviour traits of ADHD, such as inattentiveness or hyperactivity, they might be already diagnosed with ADHD or on the pathway, they might not need to go on to gain a diagnosis, but this group might be a supportive intervention for them whilst they are at school. We see a mixture of ages and genders benefit from our group support and we work closely with the schools SENDCo/Pastoral team to ensure the students who will benefit from this support are invited. If you are a professional from a Surrey state school and you would like to learn more or book our sessions in, please send us an email for more information/paperwork. All paperwork must be completed to organise a date for the sessions. The sessions run in line with the schools half terms, we do have a fluctuating waiting period, but it is essential to complete your paperwork to secure a date with our team. If you are a parent/carer of a young person in Surrey and you feel your young person would benefit from this group support please send this webpage to your child's school so they can request the information and paperwork.
We can help with
- No child should be left to deal with poor mental health alone so we provide services supporting children and young people's emotional health and wellbeing. We have centres where children and young people can visit and have a trained worker they can trust and talk to. We help them build their confidence and get to the root of their difficulties so they can feel safer, happier, healthier and more hopeful.
