Using a mixed methods approach, this research identifies a wide range of sexually exploitative situations for young people in Northern Ireland.

Child sexual exploitation is identified as a particular concern for young people involved with the youth justice system and for children in care (particularly those in residential care).

A clear link between going missing and the risk of sexual exploitation is identified. The research highlights promising practice approaches, including the introduction of regional guidance on children going missing, and statutory funding for a specialist missing service.
