What we do
Parent and Carers Toolbox - (PACT) is a service provided by Barnardo’s NI to provide Parents and Carers with a toolbox of strategies that will support them in parenting their children. The Southern Health and Social Care Trust commissions the service. Referrals come from the Trust.
PACT delivers workshops to parents and carers of children who have a recent diagnosis of ADHD. The workshops allow parents and carers to come together and learn about how the diagnosis affects their child. In addition, one-off workshops are available for young people to come together and understand how their diagnosis affects them.
PACT also delivers workshops to parents and carers of children who have recently been referred for an Autism assessment. Following these workshops, there are opportunities for support from key workers through home visits. During these visits, the keyworker will support the parents and carers with strategies to meet their children's additional needs.
