New Directions

What we do

New Directions is a service that has been set up to support young people aged 12 - 18years who are living in North Lanarkshire and behaving in ways that may result in them being in trouble with the police. Some young people may already be picking up charges. The service helps young people to understand risk and find alternative activities. We also support parents and carers who are struggling to support their child.
All our work is driven by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and the Promise. Our aim is to help young people and their families at the earliest possible time in order to divert young people from possible criminal activity, strengthen positive peer relationships and support young people and families to understand processes
