What we do
Barnardo’s Educational Outreach Service supports children and young people who are not accessing full time education with the ultimate aim of working towards the reintegration into their educational setting. We also work with CYP who are on part time timetables and those at risk of becoming a non-attender at school/college.
We specialise in supporting children and young people with complex disability/SEND needs, medical needs, CYP who have experienced trauma or a significant life event, and CYP who suffer with anxiety and attachment difficulties. Barnardo’s DSI Service is CQC registered and can undertake personal and intimate care if a child or young person requires this.
We support children and young people to help them understand, recognise and regulate their emotions, develop social skills, give opportunities to increase independence and life skills.
We provide a high level of support and interaction throughout the sessions and tailor support to the individuals needs in consultation with parents/carers, the young person, educational setting, and other professionals involved. The support is flexible through 1:1, 2:1 or in small groups and is delivered in person in the home or school, out in the community or can be undertaken virtually
