Fostering
Fostering
You could help to transform a child's life by fostering - with Barnardo's training and support you won't have to do it alone.
We are currently looking for foster carers in the following areas:
Our foster carers offer a range of different placements, ensuring that the support we offer is right for each individual child. Types of placement include:
Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) children
We need foster carers to provide stable homes to BME children, helping each child to thrive in their new environment.
Siblings groups
1 in 3 children are separated from their siblings when placed in foster care. Help keep siblings together and together we will support them, stand up for them and bring out the best in each and every child.
Children with challenging behaviours
Children in care may have experienced abuse in the past. Every child copes differently with past traumas and we need foster carers who are willing to understand demanding behaviours.
Children with physical disabilities and/or learning difficulties
We are looking for carers who are willing and able to help meet the needs of children with disabilities, giving them the support that they deserve.
Young people with babies
Some of our carers support vulnerable parents to develop crucial parenting skills, by caring for them with their child.
