Supporting teenage mothers back into education

Based on interviews with young mothers (aged 13-20) supported by Barnardo’s, the research highlights that the single most important factor in enabling young mothers to return to education is childcare.

Many young mothers were experiencing housing issues, including being made homeless by parents and struggles with living independently, demonstrating that the right benefits and housing are essential in making a return to education or training possible.
