What we do

CSE (Child Sexual Exploitation) Advisor within Barnardos Highland Service. The advisor will be predominately based at Police Scotland Head Quarters within the Public Protection Unit however will cover the whole Highland area.
RISE Highland is a partnership between Barnardo’s Scotland, Highland Child Protection Committee, Highland Council, Police Scotland, and other local stakeholders. The aim is to develop and deliver a local Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) support network that will draw on the skills, knowledge and intelligence of key agencies and provide a coordinated response to CSE. The post is responsible for: assisting statutory agencies in identification of CSE, advising on and completing screening and risk assessment, and developing communication across those agencies that are best placed to recognise and respond to CSE. We aim to achieve a proactive response that adequately supports victims of CSE and assists in disrupting perpetrators and perpetrator networks. The national network will also make a significant contribution towards an informed estimation of the prevalence, nature and scope of CSE, both in local areas and across Scotland.

The service in Highland is locally supported, locally managed and overseen and supported by a local senior stakeholder group.
