What we do
Northern star is a partnership between Barnardo’s and Aberdeen City Council through PEF which supports primary aged children and their families in Aberdeen City Primary Schools.
Northern star will aim to improve the quality of life for young people and where possible enable them to remain in mainstream education and with their families. The service will support young people and their families who are experiencing significant difficulties at home, in school, or in the community.
Difficulties may be related to:
- Educational Concerns
- Emotional concerns
- Behaviour concerns
- Family concerns
Therefore the primarily focus of support will be responding to young people’s needs and offering holistic support, either within the school environment or out with this location i.e. young person’s home.
