What we do
For U Advocacy provides issue based Advocacy support to Isle of Wight children and young people who are Looked After or on a Child Protection Plan.
We are commissioned to deliver issue-based advocacy. In general it means that advocacy is offered to address a particular issue or situation. It is not intended to be ongoing but will exist for the time it takes to resolve the issue
The service is for children and young people from aged 5 years until they are of care leaver's age up to 25 years.
This service does not provide mental health advocacy.
We can help with
- We provide one-to-one support for children and young people looked-after by their local authority. We also help other young people in need of support, such as those on a child protection plan. Our mental health advocacy services work with children and young people receiving or wanting mental health support. Children and young people have a right to be heard and involved in decisions about them, so we support them by explaining their wishes and arguing their case. We also provide activities and training for families and professionals.
