Your decision to adopt can transform the life of a vulnerable child in London.
Barnardo's welcomes all applicants, regardless of relationship status, sexuality, beliefs or ethnicity.
We train new adoptive parents as they step into their roles, and give ongoing support after children have been placed.
Our expert advice, counselling and therapy can help you bond with your child once they have moved in.
Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) children
The number of children in care from BME backgrounds is increasing each year.
We need adoptive parents to give safe and loving homes to children, helping each child to thrive in their new environment. You could help change the lives of children in care from African, Caribbean, Asian and mixed ethnicities.
Children with challenging behaviours
Children in care may have suffered neglect, sexual or emotional abuse in the past. Every child copes differently with past traumas.
We need adoptive parents who can understand demanding behaviours and we offer ongoing support and training so that you can help change the lives of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.
Children with physical and/or learning disabilities
All children need and deserve secure and loving homes.
We are looking for adopters willing to help meet the needs of children with additional requirements. We offer on-going support and training so that together, we can help a child with a disability reach their full potential.
You can help keep children together by adopting siblings. We need adoptive parents to offer caring and stable homes for brothers and sisters.
We work with local authorities to help the most vulnerable children fulfil their full potential. For more information download our statement of purpose.
