Copy of You can help turn relentless challenges into lasting solutions

A mum and daughter walk along a sunny street. The mum is pulling her daughter close and smiling down at her.

Right now, 1 in 4 children in the UK live in poverty1 because too many families are struggling to make ends meet.

Thanks to donations like yours, we can make sure families get the support they need — whether it's helping them put food on the table, keeping the electricity on so they can stay warm, or organising special days out for them to enjoy as a family.

Together, we can help children and young people feel safer, happier, healthier, and more hopeful through our specialist services, raising awareness, and campaigning to change the way the system works for children, young people and families across the UK.

We've been changing childhoods and lives for over 150 years. And thanks to you, we can continue to be here for as long as we're needed.

How your money helps

Your donation won't be restricted to a particular project but will go to the services that need it the most. For every pound we spend (excluding retail costs) approximately:

  • 94p goes on working with the children and young people who need it most
  • Less than 1p goes on investment management costs
  • And the remaining amount - just over 5p - on raising the next £1

For more info about how we raise and spend our money, please look at our latest annual report.
