The Barnardo’s shop in Aberdeen’s Union Street is opening its doors for a week of celebrations, including a fun day, a bake sale, face painting and colouring activities.
The ‘We Are Barnardo’s Week’ will run from Monday (3 August) to Sunday next week and will welcome everyone as the charity strives to strengthen the connection between Barnardo’s in the community and its retail offering.
Megan Bentley, the Union Street Store Manager, said: “We like to think that our shop already acts as an important community resource, but the ‘We Are Barnardo’s Week’ is going to build on relationships and provide fun and games for all of the family.
“We will be hosting staff from other parts of the charity as well as some families that we have supported in the past. As well as enjoying some tasty homemade treats while browsing for a bargain, visitors will also be able learn about our crucial work at an information table as we seek to continue that mission of changing childhoods and changing lives.”
Barnardo’s has been helping children, young people and families to be safer, happier, healthier and more hopeful for more than 150 years.
