Barnardo's chief executive has responded to the delayed publishing of the government's child poverty strategy
Lynn Perry said: “We’re disappointed to hear the government’s child poverty strategy has been delayed.
"Every week we don’t act, more children are going for days without a hot meal, going another week at school in shoes that don’t fit, or spending seven more nights sleeping in a room covered in black mould. Every week we wait has huge implications for their future.
“We urge the government to use this time to make sure the strategy, when it comes, makes a real change to the millions of children growing up in poverty in the UK.”
