Nearly 1 in 4 children in the UK could go without a meal today.

Right now, nearly one in four children in the UK are growing up in poverty. But for them, hunger is more than just food.

They are missing meals, returning to cold homes, and starting to feel left out of the moments that matter.

With your support, Barnardo’s is there alongside parents like Nadine every day, helping them support their children through the toughest times. You’ll find us at kitchen tables, in Family Hubs, and on the end of the phone when things feel overwhelming.

I was struggling as a single parent and was dreading the summer holidays because of the financial side of things.

Nadine

Mum, supported by Barnardo's

When Nadine was struggling to make ends meet, your support helped us be there helping her put food on the table, easing the pressure, and making sure her children didn’t have to go without.

Together, we can help children and young people feel safer, happier, healthier and more hopeful by supporting families in their communities, in the ways they need most.

We’ve been changing childhoods and lives for over 150 years. And with your support today, we can continue to be there for children whenever they need us.

Your donation won’t be restricted to a particular project but will go to where it's needed most, helping us support children and young people no matter what they are facing.

Nourishing the Future

The food we eat as children – and the nutrients we receive even before we are born – has a huge impact on our health and wellbeing. Unfortunately, there is growing evidence that here in the UK, far too many children and young people are missing out on the nutritious food they need to thrive.
