Children struggling with their mental health need support.

Right now, nearly one in four children in the UK are growing up in poverty. But for them, hunger is more than just food.

And many of them are struggling with their mental health in silence. Feeling left out, lacking confidence, and without the support they need to feel happy and well.

With your support, we’re there alongside children and families creating safe spaces, building confidence, and making sure children feel seen, heard and supported.

For Nadine’s family, donations helped make that possible giving them the chance to spend time together, reconnect, and rebuild confidence after a difficult period.

Together, we can help children and young people feel safer, happier, healthier and more hopeful by providing the support, connection and care they need to thrive.

We’ve been changing childhoods and lives for over 150 years. And with your support today, we can continue to be there for children whenever they need us.

Your donation won’t be restricted to a particular project but will go to where it's needed most, helping us support children and young people no matter what they are facing.

Mental health and emotional wellbeing

Around one in six children have experienced a mental health problem. When this happens, it can be difficult for them to make and keep friends, manage at school and feel good about themselves. That’s why we offer a wide-range range of mental health support services for children, young people, and their families.

Social media and mental health

Using social media can help us to stay connected with others and see what’s going on in the world around us. However, being online for too long, feeling like you’re stuck or ‘doomscrolling’, experiencing cyberbullying, or seeing intense content can sometimes leave you feeling stressed and overwhelmed. Understanding how social media affects your mental health, in both the good ways and the bad, can help you to use social media in a way that feels fun and safe.
