Our approach to Children's Centres

We work closely with our commissioners to provide services that are inclusive, safe, and supportive to both the child and their family. Our approach to our childrens centres is one that focuses on the individual needs of the young people that come to us. We provide targeted services such as home visits, open access and specialist groups, and create specialist programmes suited to certain children and their families. This approach means that regardless of the child's needs, we can support them in a way that works for them. Whilst every children's centre is different, they share a founding purpose to improve outcomes for young children and their families and we aim for those who attend our centres to feel safe, informed and leave with confidence.

Case Study - Barnardo's Children's Centre was a real life line

As well as providing a fun and safe space for young people, our children's centres also provide parents with essential support, offering classes and information to help them build their confidence and have the opportunity to meet other parents. Our evidence-based health-promotion and parenting programmes, our safe and stimulating environements and our rigorous safeguarding standards sets us apart as one of the leading providers of Children's Centres in the United Kingdom with 72% of our centres in England have been rated 'good' or 'outstanding' by Ofsted.
