Government fails to protect families on the tipping point between hardship and crisis as absolute child poverty rises

Today’s Households Below Average Income (HBAI) figures find no change in the number of children living in relative poverty and a 2 per cent rise in the number of children living in absolute poverty to 3.8 million (after housing costs). Barnardo’s Chief Executive Anne Marie Carrie comments:
