The Chancellor of the Exchequer has said that the Government wants to speed up the adoption process, so that children find a family sooner. It plans to put aside 30 million to do this in the Budget on Wednesday 8 July 2015.

Young, single dads could struggle to have their child stay overnight with them, if housing benefit changes proposed by the government go ahead. The warning comes from Barnardo’s with other charities, including Working With Men and Young Dads Council. Together, we are calling on the Government to urgently review benefits rules, so that all parents are exempted from plans to cut housing benefits for young people regardless of whether their children live with them full time or not.
