Child Bereavement Service Belfast

What we do

The majority of children who have been bereaved manage to cope with their feelings of pain and loss with the support of their family and local community. However, in some circumstances it may be necessary for children and young people to meet with one of the skilled staff to help them in their personal journey of coping with their grief.

The service offers individual work for children and young people up to the age of 18. The children are usually accompanied by a supportive adult and it is our experience that the majority of children and young people make significant progress within six sessions.

We also run group sessions for bereaved children and young people giving them the opportunity to meet with other people their age who have been bereaved.

Referrals for individual work can be made by contacting us by telephone, email or in writing.
