Q.I want to donate some furniture to Barnardo's - will you collect it?

A. Barnardo's have several shops in the Fylde area, two of which will collect furniture. Contact numbers for the shops are

Q. How much does it cost for a child to attend a group?

A. All our services are free.


Q. I want to volunteer for Barnardo's?

A  Contact Nikki Somerville our Volunteer Resource Manager on 01253 626480 to discuss volunteering.  Volunteers are needed  to support the project in all aspects of our work and we would appreciate and welcome help in any form from all members of the community.  We offer training and support in return we expect a comittment of at least one year.


Q. How do I make a referral?

A. If you are from another agency:

  • if you are a member of staff working for another agency, you will need to complete a referral form and obtain consent from the person/family you wish to refer to the project. To obtain copies of the necessary forms and/or for a general conversation regarding the appropriateness of a referral, please contact the project
  • the referral form and consent should be sent to Barnardo's Blackpool Project, 16 Bennett Avenue, Blackpool FY1 4DP fax number 01253 624295 or email blackpool.project@barnardos.org.uk
  • a panel meets every Monday to review referrals into the project and allocate them to the appropriate team
  • you will be informed of the progress of your referral following the panel meeting and contact being made with the person/family referred
  • in the event of a referral being refused, you will be contacted with an explanation and suggestions of alternative support that might be available.

If you are an individual:

  • if you are an individual, who feels they would benefit from the support of the project, please telephone on 01253 626480  and we shall complete the paperwork for you. As above, you will then be contacted by one of our project workers following the Monday panel meeting
  • our project worker will arrange to visit you to discuss your circumstances and needs and then to offer you the most appropriate means of support - this may not always be from our own project.
