Salary: £8.45 per hour

Barnardo's Flintshire Young Carers Service provides a range of interventions across the borough of Flintshire. Services will include interventions, information and advice, support and development for children and young people. The work will be undertaken by working in groups and on a 1-1 basis.

The main purpose of this role will be to support children and young people under the age of 18 who have caring responsibilities for their parents, siblings or other family members through the provision of respite services.

Your main responsibilities will involve:
- Participating in the planning of activities.
- To take responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in your care.
- To be responsible for the expenditure of group activities and maintaining simple financial records to be submitted to the Service.
- To help identify suitable venues for group activities.

The successful post holder will have:
- An understanding of issues affecting young people in general and particularly young carers.
- Experience of planning and safely carrying out activities.
- To ensure that young people are effectively involved in planning services.
- To be receptive to new ideas and to challenging discriminatory attitudes.
- The ability to work evenings, during school holidays and weekends

It is essential that you have the ability to travel throughout the locality to meet the requirements of the post.
