Recently held Buchan Barn Dance has raised £3,643 for children’s charity, Barnardo’s Scotland.
The dance, which was held on 20 August, was in Haddo House and saw over 125 guests in attendance.
Jordyn Armstrong, Barnardo’s Scotland Events Manager, said: “We are so grateful to the Barn Dance Committee for arranging this event and to everyone who attended ‘thank you’ so much for your generosity. Donations like this really can make a huge difference to the children and young people we support through our local services.”
The successful event has been running for over 40 years, but this is the first time the fundraiser was held in aid of Barnardo’s Scotland. Funds were raised through ticket sales a raffle and tombola.
Chair of the Buchan Barn Dance Committee, Jo Middelthon, said: “This was a great opportunity to raise a lot of money for Barnardo’s Scotland while having some fun with friends and family. Guests enjoyed a buffet dinner, and in true Barn Dance tradition, took to the floor to take part in some Reels. The evening was a great success and it was lovely to see all ages dancing, including parents.”
Jordyn continued: “It is donations and fundraisers like this which mean Barnardo’s Scotland can continue its vital work helping thousands of children across Scotland.”
