Barnardo's statement on regarding the Joint Committee on Human Rights’ report, "Human Rights of Children in the Social Care System in England"
Lynn Perry, chief executive of Barnardo’s, said: “Too many children and young people in care are navigating a broken system – split up from their siblings, moved far away from everyone they know or being housed in illegal homes. The impact this has on them, many of whom have already faced trauma in their young lives, cannot be underestimated.
“We welcome many of this report’s recommendations and focus on protecting the rights of children in care, and hope this will allow us to take step towards a better future for all children, no matter their background.”
