Children’s charity Barnardo’s has launched a series of activity packs for children aimed at building a range of life skills such as kindness, creativity and resilience.
The Super Seekers packs, which can be downloaded from the Barnardo’s website, are designed to help children aged three to five years old develop important life skills through fun and imaginative play. Children become Super Seekers by defeating the dreadfully dull Baron von Bore-them, earning badges along the way and collecting certificates to show their great achievement.
The charity says children’s imagination is important not only for their emotional development, but for their general wellbeing. But the recent Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown has added a huge amount of pressure to family life with parents seeing an increase in challenging behaviour in their children, and children and young people experiencing worsening mental health.
Super Seekers is a fun experience that understands how to develop life skills through imaginative play and the activity packs will help parents understand and encourage key life skills that capture their child’s creativity.
With the range of activities families can do in recent times so restricted by the lockdown, Barnardo’s 10 activity packs will help alleviate boredom. Parents are asked for a ‘pay what you feel’ donation to download a pack which will go toward supporting vulnerable children and families across the UK.

Barnardo’s Chief Executive Javed Khan said:
“The Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown have put a huge amount of pressure on family life, with many parents balancing work with childcare and home-schooling, while worrying about their financial future.
“These Super Seekers activity packs provide safe and fun activities for the whole family, and promote children’s creativity.
“Barnardo’s has over 150 years’ experience of working with children, so we’ve seen lots of children unlock their inner superpowers. I encourage everyone to get their Super Seekers pack today and help raise funds for vulnerable children and families across the UK.”
Last year around 300,000 children, young people, parents and carers were supported by Barnardo’s through more than 1,000 services across the UK, such as young carers, care leavers, foster carers and adoptive parents, training and skills or parenting classes.
We work to change the lives of vulnerable children in the UK and every year we help thousands of families to build a better future. But we cannot do it without you.
