Transferring to Barnardo's

At Barnardo’s we know foster carers need 24-hour support. Together, we encourage some of the most vulnerable children in the UK to thrive, unlocking the bright futures they deserve.

If you are already a foster carer with another agency, but are considering moving to Barnardo's, we are interested in hearing from you.

With over 100 years’ experience of successfully matching carers with children, we are committed to helping you and the children in your care.

Next steps

All transfers follow the Fostering Network transfer protocol. The transfer protocol is the best practice guidance to managing the movement of foster carers between agencies. It was developed by The Fostering Network and independent fostering providers, issued with the support of the Association of Directors of Children's Services.

Even if you have a child in placement you can transfer to Barnardo’s and benefit from a high level of support and professional development through classroom based training and online resources.

Want to change fostering agencies? By choosing to become a foster carer with Barnardo’s you can make a huge difference to a child's life - and yours.
