This mixed method evaluation of the Community Support for Offenders’ Families service, supporting offenders and their families in the community, shows the service fills an important gap in provision for families struggling with complex issues at referral.
The findings reveal that while training is effective in raising practitioners’ understandings about the needs of families, and the service plays a key role in bringing together different agencies to review overarching systems and processes, further monitoring is needed to determine longer term impacts.
