1 in 3 children in the UK are living in poverty.
We have all found the past two years tough, but it is children who struggle the most. The pandemic has pushed more families into financial hardship with 1 in 3 children in the UK now living in poverty.
Families living in poverty must decide between paying their bills or buying food. Many children are left cold and hungry. You can help keep a child safe and well-fed.
Donate to children’s charity Barnardo’s today to give vital support to a child in poverty.
What have Barnardo’s done since the pandemic?
We've been there through the pandemic helping the children and families we support to meet their basic human needs – including giving out thousands of food packages and vouchers. We also provide ongoing support by helping to find suitable accommodation and empowering families with access to longer-term financial advice to set them up for a better future.
More and more children and young people are feeling the knock-on effects of more than a year of uncertainty. We must act now to ensure no child gets left behind. Donate to Barnardo’s children’s charity today to give to children in need.

For every £1 you donate, we spend 92p on working with the children who most need our help. Income raised will go where the need is greatest.
At Barnardo’s, we protect, support and nurture some of the UK's most vulnerable children and young people. Over 150 years, we’ve built up a network of services throughout the UK in local communities. Last year, Barnardo’s and partners helped over 380,000 children, young people and parents. We are the UK’s largest children’s charity with nearly 800 services. The scale of what we do may be big, but our aim is simple – to provide the best outcome for every child, no matter who they are or what they have been through. Whatever happens, we don’t give up on children. We are there for as long as it takes.
