Yorkshire
For over 100 years Barnardo’s has helped children and young people in the Yorkshire region. Growing up is sometimes very tough for the 10,000 children and young people we help today and we work directly in partnership with them to create and develop services relevant to their needs. Listening to children define what they need is what drives us forward.

Our work in the region is genuinely innovative. Several creative initiatives have become templates for services being developed throughout the UK. Ground-breaking work with children abused through prostitution and community development linking churches and neighbourhood action all have their roots here. New education services for school-age mums and schemes tracking young people reported missing from home have had a similar impact.
Through our diverse range of services we work to address the widely differing needs we meet on a daily basis from problems such as abuse, homelessness and poverty to tackling the challenges of disability. Services will change but our aim will remain the same to continue to make a real difference to the most disadvantages children in Yorkshire.
Barnardo’s Yorkshire needs £14 million a year that is £1.2 million a month or £268,000 a week just to maintain our existing services. Would you like to help children, young people and their families in Yorkshire donate today!
