Barnardo’s statement, ‘with children, for children’ has at its heart the vision for Barnardo’s which is that the lives of all children and young people should be free from poverty, abuse and discrimination.
Here in London, East and South East (England) (LEaSE), our job is to make the vision real through the services we deliver and how we deliver them. Through our 60 services we aim to help the most vulnerable children and young people transform their lives and fulfil their potential.
LEaSE is the largest Barnardo’s Region consisting of three Government Office Regions. A third of the UK population resides in the LEaSE Region of England and we work with over 6,000 children, young people and their families in their homes, our services and our schools in areas such as Milton Keynes, Colchester, London, Brighton and Southampton.
We have over 60 services and our work across the region reflects the diversity of these areas. Many of our services are run in conjunction with local authorities and other statutory agencies in order to provide the best service to children and families. Other agencies approach us because of our reputation, expertise and ethos.
Launched May 2006, 4 year Plan. Barnardo's together with seven other children’s charities, have developed a manifesto which sets out a demanding programme for action to improve young Londoner’ lives.(803 KB)
There are over 1,200 volunteers, 775 paid children’s services staff working in our region and we work together to continue tomake things better for children and young people and to find more creative and supportive ways of delivering our aims.
