Barnardo's Scotland Campaigns and Influencing

As Scotland’s largest children’s charity we lead the way in influencing the Scottish Government to bring out the best in every child.

We have a proven track record of working in partnership with politicians, ministers, civil servants, local councillors, senior local government officers, and other agencies to ensure that public policy delivers positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people across Scotland. We also work with a range of large and small charities across the UK and Scotland on a range of campaigns and issues.

The Policy Team responds to Government consultations, briefs and meets with parliamentarians, organises lobbying activities and works closely with civil servants through all stages of the policy-making process.

We campaign to make change and challenge where we believe more needs to be done. Barnardo's Scotland has recently launched the Cut Them Free campaign - tackling child sexual exploitation in Scotland, and lodged a petition with the Scottish Parliament’s Petition Committee - see the Campaigns page for more info on how you can get involved.

We also support our excellent projects promoting their experience and success in creating innovative solutions that deliver positive outcomes for children.
