PIP - Parents and Infants Programme
PIP is based in Lisburn, Co Antrim and is a programme for parents/carers and children aged 6 weeks to 3 years to develop play, communication and parenting skills. Programmes are run in local venues at the heart of communities across the city and follow the High/Scope approach. High/Scope is based on adult/child interaction and routines and encourages children to make choices, solve problems and become decision makers. The programme also offers support for parents, improves positive parenting, increases parents’ confidence and helps parent and child communication. The groups run once a week during the school year and each session lasts a hour and a half.
