The BabyFather Initiative
Patrick Augustus set up the BabyFather Alliance (BFA) to encourage responsible parenting amongst black males in the UK, in particular those who are separated from their children.
The success of the BabyFather books and BBC television series led to an overwhelming amount of enquiries from black males, professionals, mothers, carers and others in the wider community concerned about the impact that absent fathers were having on the black community and society in general.
The BFA has partnered up with Barnardo’s to offer a range of parenting and other community based activities and services around;reconcilliation, mediation and community healing, nationally and around the UK.
The BabyFather Initiative has worked with a large number of fathers, especially those considered hard to reach. We also supply training and consultancy services direct to professionals who work to support children, families, men, fathers and male carers.
