Working within local communities
Barnardo's services in the North East are based within the communities they serve and we work hard to build relationships with the most vulnerable and hard to reach children, young people and families.
Diverse range of services for children and young people
The range of need, and consequently the range of our services, is diverse. This reflects the many difficult circumstances children and young people find themselves in. Barnardo's work in the North East includes:
- protecting and supporting children and young people exploited through prostitution
- providing vocational training for young people who are not in education or employment
- we provide practical and emotional support for young people who are caring for a sick or disabled relative.
