BabyFather Initiative - The Fatherhood Program (FP)

The BabyFather Initiative has now launched its new Training and Consultancy Service. It is the culmination of a series of discussions we have held throughout the UK with fathers and social care practitioners.

"I am more thoughtful about being a role model for my child"
  • The BabyFather Initiative's Training and Consultancy Service is the culmination of a series of consultations and discussions that the BabyFather Initiative held with fathers and social care practitioners throughout the UK. It is designed to offer an opportunity for fathers to reflect on their role and develop key parenting skills, in supportive enviroment, and for those working with fathers to develop the skills to successful engage with them.
  • The African Caribbean Fatherhood Program (ACFP)
The only one of its kind in the UK and is designed to meet the cultural sensitivities of African Carribean men, fathers and male carers and other BME groups.  It is an accredited parenting program.

Sevices For practitioners

  • The Fatherhood Training Program
This is designed to increase the understanding and confidence of professionals who work with children, young people, families, men, fathers and male carers. This course provides practical skills while looking at social policy, legislation and the theory of fatherhood in the community.
  • A bespoke consultative service
This is to assist practitioners, organisations and groups to develop effective policies and practices around the engagement of men, fathers, and male carers in service development delivery and provision.

It takes a whole village to raise a child
