MBE for Aberdeenshire fundraiser for services to children’s charity and local community

Kit Pawson, a supporter of a children’s charity for over 30 years, said she was in ‘total disbelief’ hearing of her MBE award and ‘humbled’. Kit, who has been volunteering for Barnardo’s for over 30 years, attended Buckingham Palace on Friday, May 20 and was presented with the award by the Prince of Wales.

Barnardo’s Scotland charity shop in Cowdenbeath is celebrating 41 years of trading this year and celebrating the continued support by three local ladies. The shop opened in 1975 and throughout the 41 years trading May Scott, Amelia Howie and Ella Neilson have volunteered and worked in the shop.
