75% of children who live in Scotland say key to happiness is having a parent that believes in them, finds children’s charity

A new survey by Barnardo’s has revealed that 75 per cent of children living in Scotland said having a parent or guardian that encourages or believes in them is important for a positive future when they are adults.

Today, 16 December 2016, Barnardo’s Scotland launched a film and report, Family Firm Action Research, documenting the thoughts of young people around the charity becoming a Family Firm – a concept that aims to encourage Public Bodies and Third Sector organisations to offer care leavers employment and positive destination opportunities. All of the young people featured in the film have experience of the care system.
