Campaigning for children - policy and research unit

The aim of our policy and research unit is to promote children’s rights and bring about positive change for children, young people and their families in Northern Ireland.

We do this through:

  • promoting the experience and practice of Barnardo’s projects
  • liaison with NI assembly ministers and civil servants
  • briefing MLAs, MPs, MEPs on children and family matters
  • working in collaboration with other groups engaged in children and young peoples’ issues in NI
  • contributing to the development of Barnardo’s four nations campaigns as well as organising conferences and seminars.
