Barnardo’s Northern Ireland

Barnardo’s NI works for children first and last. In over 100 years we have helped improve the lives and opportunities of tens of thousands of children in communities across Northern Ireland. We work wherever children need us most.

For more information about our services and programmes, please take a look at the Barnardo's NI A-Z of Services.

We also have a new booklet called 'Voices' (PDF) which has first hand accounts from a range of children, young people and families, speaking about how Barnardo's NI has supported them and made a positive impact on their lives.

Latest publications can be found in the Campaigning for Children section.

You can keep up to date with Barnardo's NI on Facebook and Twitter.

Iof Award

We are delighted to have won the Institute of Fundraising Partnership of the Year Award 2018 through our partnership with PwC. The two year partnership has seen over £100,000 raised, however the partnership has gone beyond fundraising with PwC volunteering at different services to paint, clear gardens, run shops and clean play areas. Barnardo's staff also engaged with PwC to create much needed resources including new leaflets for our Child Bereavement Service and employment skills for our Dr B's trainees. The award from the Institute of Fundraising recognises how integrated the partnership has been.

Bassetts & Barnardo's get their ducks in a row

Leading bathroom and plumbing specialist, Bassetts recently gifted Barnardo’s NI two complete new bathrooms and upgraded two WCs in the charity’s Children’s House. The house in East Belfast provides a home for up to six primary school aged children who are in the process of being placed with long term foster parents. The children are loving their new bathrooms and especially like the mirrors with touch sensitive lights, the walk-in showers and pearlescent mosaic borders which they describe as crystals. Since 2017, Bassetts has been a charity partner of the children’s charity through its parent company Saint Gobain Building Distribution.
