Volunteering in the East region

If you speak to people who already volunteer they will tell you they do it because they love it, it’s meaningful, or it’s fun. By volunteering with Barnardo’s you can make a real difference to the lives of the most vulnerable children.

You can do this by volunteering in children’s services and supporting children and young people through group work, mentoring, befriending and a host of other roles.

You could also get involved in raising vital funds for our work with children. Or perhaps you would like to help out in one of our 130 charity shops in the East.

We have office volunteers, student volunteers and also a national intern programme where we can offer 3 month volunteer placements on a full or part time basis. The internships are advertised four times a year, and can offer much needed experience for people looking to move into work, or have a career change, or develop new skills.

You can search for volunteering opportunities by visiting www.barnardos.org.uk/volunteering and enter your postcode to find out what positions are close to home.

You are also welcome to contact the east regional volunteering and community engagement advisors:
