Barnardo’s Voice service in Yorkshire

Barnardo’s Voice service in Yorkshire works with all children and young people who use a Barnardo’s project. It’s VOICE’s job to make sure that all children and young people get the chance to participate and have a voice.

You can help us by sharing your ideas and telling us what you think about your service. You could make changes at a regional and national level for Barnardo’s but you can also make changes in other organisations and the government.

Here are some of the things that you could get involved with:

Newspaper strategy group
The newspaper strategy group develops a regular newsletter. The group is made up of young people who receive, or have received, a service from Barnardo's, and meet as and when a new edition is ready to be produced. They edit and develop each story about what's happening across the region, share personal experiences of the work they have done with Barnardo's, plus add puzzles and games. Read the recent issues of Evry1 say ur bit young people's newsletter.

There are lots of other ways you can get involved including:

  • becoming part of interview panels which recruit people to work with children and young people
  • helping to organise conferences run by young people for young people
  • let us know what you think and your opinions for publications that Barnardo’s sends to government. Have a look at our previous publications that young people have contributed to. Green Paper ‘Every Child Matters’ , Who’s Government is it anyway?
  • get involved in exciting events. Read about some of the the events we have held in the past.
